Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered Paramedic to move into a rewarding, non-ambulance role as a PIP Functional Assessor. As a PIP Functional Assessor, you will carry out assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, supporting fair and accurate decisions for individuals applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
The Role
In this role, you will:
• Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and video assessments with individuals claiming PIP
• Review medical evidence and functional information to understand how health conditions impact daily living and mobility
• Produce clear, detailed, and balanced reports that reflect clinical judgement and functional ability
• Work to professional standards within agreed guidelines and timeframes
• Manage a caseload independently while receiving ongoing clinical and operational support
In this role, you will:

Full training is provided, allowing you to transition confidently into the assessor role even if you have no previous experience in functional assessment.
What You’ll Need
To be considered, you must have:
• HCPC registration as a Paramedic (with no restrictions)
• At least one year of post-registration clinical experience
• Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
• Good IT skills and the ability to produce clear written reports
• The right to work in the UK

Experience in a range of clinical settings and confidence in holistic assessment will be highly beneficial.

• Starting salary of £40,000 per annum
