Job Title: Paramedic – PIP Functional Assessor
Location: Aylesbury (HP19 8EZ)
Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: Full‑time, permanent
Summary
Are you a registered Paramedic looking for a better work–life balance without stepping away from clinical decision‑making? This is an opportunity to move into a structured, non‑acute clinical role as a PIP Functional Assessor, with no night shifts, no emergency work and full training provided.
The Role
As a PIP Functional Assessor, you will carry out structured functional assessments for individuals applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
Your role will involve:
• Conducting assessments via face‑to‑face, telephone or video
• Reviewing medical evidence and functional history
• Applying clinical reasoning to reach evidence‑based conclusions
• Producing clear, accurate clinical reports
• Working autonomously with ongoing clinical support
This is a non‑emergency, non‑acute role, focused on quality, consistency and professional judgement.
Training and Support
You will complete a minimum of 9 weeks’ full‑time, paid training, combining classroom learning, case‑based discussions and supervised assessments.
Training may be extended where required, for example due to absence or additional support needs, ensuring you are fully prepared before working independently.
Once qualified, you will receive:

Working Pattern
• Standard weekday working hours
• No nights, no on‑call, no weekends
• Hybrid working model following training, in line with service requirements
Pay and Benefits
• £40,000 starting salary (Aylesbury – HP19 8EZ)
• Incremental salary progression during the first year, subject to training completion and performance

What You Will Need
Essential requirements:
• HCPC registration as a Paramedic
• Minimum of 12 months post‑registration clinical experience
• Strong communication and report‑writing skills
• Confidence using IT systems
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
No previous assessment experience is required – full training is provided.
