Summary
Consultant Psychiatrist role within an inpatient eating disorders service. You will take clinical responsibility for patients, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, and support service development and governance.

Overview
Salary £170,000 per year. Full-time, onsite role (37.5 hours). Fully remote working is not available.

Applicants must hold GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register. CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry is required. Experience in inpatient mental health settings is essential. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK.

What you’ll do

• Take clinical responsibility for patients on an eating disorders ward
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and care planning
• Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act (1983)
• Support referrals, admissions, and pre-admission assessments
• Provide psychiatric input to assessment, formulation, and treatment
• Contribute to clinical governance and service development
• Supervise and support junior medical staff
• Maintain accurate clinical records and meet regulatory standards
• Participate in on-call rota as required

What you’ll need

• GMC registration with Specialist Register
• CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry
• Experience in inpatient mental health settings
• Strong multidisciplinary team working skills
• High level communication and interpersonal ability
• Commitment to CPD and revalidation requirements
• Resilience and ability to work in emotionally demanding environments
• Understanding of safeguarding and clinical governance
